The top picture is taken from one of 'The Smiths' albums front covers and the bottom picture is of an advertisment for the same album. I like the colours chosen here and the way that the same photo is used for the advert and cd cover. I really like the way the photo's are taken and framed on most of the work and albums from this band and I think the ideas they have used would work well with our band. I like the simplicity of them both and the fonts used are really plain but at the same time look effective and work well as a whole. The band name on the cd cover is done in similar colours and so at first it is hard to notice but this helps people to concentrate on the photo which is the main part of it. I hope to be able to use the sort of idea's that 'The Smiths' use on their album covers/adverts as I think it wouldn't be too complicated for me to do and it would work really well with our song choice. I like the shadowing and lighting effects that have been used on the image and I realise that these things are very important when setting up the shots.
